Memorial Sloan Kettering asked
How might we leverage the recent boom in consumer Virtual Reality technology to improve quality of life for people with cancer?
25% of all cancer patients suffer from depression. And, a leading cause for this is the isolation that patients feel as they are stuck in the hospital for so long and are away from their loved ones. Our solution to tackle this issue is to create a communal VR system that allows patients to enter a warm and personal virtual space, where they can interact with a family member or friend. The environment is populated by framed images that represent memories from the patient’s life or moments in a family member or friend’s life to share with the patient.
